Abstract

Physical activity and exercise have become the most realistic and practical medicine. Together with a healthy diet, physical activity and exercise can protect individuals from and treat most chronic diseases in a different way, from a smaller scale to entirely.

Both performing stent and bypass surgery or implementing diet and exercise to treat people with the same ailments, such as obesity, have had similar results after few years. Relieving knee pain via surgery or exercise also have had the same result. These above are some of the abundant examples.

Previous papers, both older and more recent, reported that physical activity protects elderly people against cardiovascular diseases, cancers, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease.

In our paper we emphasise that it is necessary to speed up implementation of physical activity and exercise in the general population, especially in elderly people.
